I finally gave up trying to get my computer to cooperate with my GigaWare USB gaming controller. And bought an XBox 360 controller with USB attachment from Microsoft. This should hopefully enable me to program controller support into my games.
I've always planned to have controller support every single one of my games, because I'm top tier. (So long as it's possible, anyway. I doubt all of my games will benefit from controller support, but any game that could benefit from it will definitely have it.)
You can also expect every single one of my games to allow key rebinding and button mapping. I've played far too many games where the controls suck, but the damn thing doesn't allow you to change the key or button configurations.
I'm looking directly at you, Saints Row 3 for the PC.
Resolution control is also something I want to work in. I've seen enough of Total Biscuit's options menu criticism to know that games not having an adjustable screen resolution can be aggravating. I'm going to try to make it fully adjustable down to the pixel, just to make sure it suits monitors and screens of all sizes. Sure, I doubt there are any 5p monitors, but at least it will silence the complainers.
