If it seems like I'm not working on anything video game related, lately, it's because I'm not. I've set aside almost everything I've got going on, save for a periodic break or two every few days, to get this novel of mine pushed into publishing as soon as possible. I've had to delay it a few times to work out problems that needed to be edited, things that needed changing at the last minute, and extra things that will make following along with the story a little easier, already, and I don't want to keep delaying it indefinitely.
In fact, it would have been published by now if not for the overall negative reaction I'd gotten from friends, family, and editor in regard to the cover. Having to redo it is the only thing holding it up. It's almost done, by the way. I'm already 30% done with the last of the 5 characters that appear on the front cover. But I'm also on the most difficult. The dude on the left hand side, Dark Lord Warkahn, is the most complex, and is taking the most work due to his ornate armor. But I'm definitely going to be able to meet my July deadline if nothing else goes horribly wrong. I have no idea how smoothly actually publishing it will go. Admittedly, I've done exactly zero research on the process, so that could always end up being a delay, too.
This delay was good, though. It's been a learning experience doing the cover over. I've developed some tricks that I'll be able to bring into game creation, which I'm hoping to get back to doing very soon, if the publishing for this novel goes as smoothly as I'm hoping it will.
