So I was talking to someone about my game a day ago, and he seemed enthusiastic about it. Maybe a little overly so, but that's fine. A little disappointment is good for everyone now and again.
Anyway, he ended up asking me what I plan to charge for it. Not an odd question to ask a dev, and I already know what my asking price will be. About $2. His reply actually was what caught me off guard. He said he would feel like he was robbing me, at that price, and wondered what people could do if they found the game to be worth more than that and wanted to pay more for it.
I never really thought people would WANT to pay more than the asking price for a game, but it makes sense. At first I thought "Well, I have a Patreon, that's good enough. When I'm not a nobody any more, I'll link to it and in the event people want to pay more to show support, they can." But then I remembered my Patreon is NSFW. And not everyone is going to want to go there, for one reason or another. Also, Patreon is monthly billing, and that's not fair to everyone.
So to solve the problem, I've added a donation button to the side bar. In the event that anyone feels my games are worth more than I charge for them, they should now have that option.
Please don't make any donations until I've done something worthy of donations.
